Privacy policy

What we collect

• Contact and booking details: your name, email, phone number, country, time zone and the appointment you booked.
• Health information: what you share in the booking form, during the consultation and in any reports you send, such as symptoms, history, medicines and test results.
• Payment confirmation: the amount, date and a transaction reference. Card, UPI and bank details are handled by the payment provider and never reach us.
• Website preferences: your fee currency choice (India or outside India) is stored in your own browser. This website doesn’t use advertising or tracking cookies.

How we use it

• To schedule, confirm and hold your consultation and send reminders
• To assess your health and prepare your plan
• To keep consultation records as medical guidelines require
• To process payments and refunds and keep accounts
• To reply to your messages

We use your information only for these purposes, with your consent, which you give when you book. We never sell your information or use it for advertising.

Who we share it with

Only with services needed to run the practice, each bound by their own privacy and security obligations:

• the booking and scheduling platform
• the payment provider
• the video-call provider
• email and messaging services used to contact you

We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to protect someone’s life or safety in an emergency.

International patients

Your information is processed in India and by the service providers above, some of which store data in other countries. By booking from outside India, you consent to this transfer.

How long we keep it

Consultation records are kept for as long as Indian medical record-keeping rules and telemedicine guidelines require, then securely deleted. Messages that aren’t part of your medical record are deleted when no longer needed.

Your rights

You can ask to:

• see a summary of the personal information we hold about you
• correct or update it
• delete it, where the law doesn’t require us to keep it
• withdraw your consent for future processing
• nominate someone to exercise these rights on your behalf

Children

We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 18 without the consent of a parent or guardian.

Security

We use reputable providers with encryption in transit, limit access to your information to Dr. Nirmal Purohit, and keep records on password-protected, secured devices.

If you have a concern about how your information is handled, contact Dr. Nirmal Purohit at hello@drnirmalsherbs.com. If you’re not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

Changes to this policy

We’ll post any changes on this page and update the effective date at the top.
